“I decided to study at BCoT for two reasons – the course offered everything I needed to start my career in textiles and design plus I didn’t want to move too far away from my part-time job, family and friends.
The aspect of my course I loved the most was being given freedom in the print room to explore colour and design. The tutors were fantastic; they were always there for us. The course covers a variety of techniques, giving us the freedom to experiment and see what we are good at and enjoy.
I am now working as a secondary school teacher in Design Technology, specialising in textiles. The BCoT course taught me about the practical skills of textiles as well as skills required in order to succeed, to not give up and to persevere - skills which I am able to pass on to my students.”
