Systemic work and Genograms

This workshop is for trainee and qualified counsellors who might be interested in understanding the work of colleagues using systemic theory.

Donatella Maschio is a psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor and family practitioner working in private practice and within organisations. Donatella trained at the University of Surrey where she gained a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy with a Means to Health. She continued her interest in couples, families, groups and organisations and trained as a Systemic Family Practitioner at the Tavistock Portman NHS Trust. She has taught and managed Counselling courses and has worked therapeutically in various organisational settings both from the public and private sector.

What is systemic?

This workshop will explain some of the basic ideas underpinning Systemic theory. There will be specific focus on what does systemic therapy means and how working with systemic principles impacts on the therapeutic relationship.

There will be an element of encouraging self-awareness while using a genogram within a systemic framework.
