Aspiral Learning have a range of training solutions so that they can work with you to identify the best one to suit your needs. We offer innovative off the shelf courses as well as bespoke training solutions, updating and refreshing soft and hard skills relevant to our market demands, and financial climates. BCoT works closely with local authorities, employers and other agencies to provide fully funded education and training for the unemployed, the unemployed on benefits and employees. We offer free training opportunities for smaller businesses with less than 250 full time employees. The Employability team can offer you bespoke courses, offering a range of sector specific qualifications, distance learning, functional skills English and Maths, Microsoft Office training, Management training and much more.

The training on offer will fall into one of the following categories:

  • Bespoke training for your staff, based on your needs and schedule.
  • Vocational Qualifications (like NVQs or Certificates), delivered and assessed in the workplace
  • Distance Learning qualifications, so you can decide how and where you study
  • Professional courses, to achieve a recognised professional status

Free English and Maths courses

English and Maths are some of the most overlooked skills shortages within Industry that have a negative impact on organisations. Join an increasing number of businesses who have utilised this FREE training to help their staff communicate more accurately and effectively. This includes free English and Maths courses to support individuals to obtain and Level 1 or Level 2 qualification.

Sector Based Work Academies

We offer employers the option of interviewing our learners for employability following a short employer led course. We would like this to be a solution providing service for any interested employers, and we can offer qualification courses that will cater for their specific requirements. The Employability Team can create funded tailored employability preparation courses to prepare the candidate for employment and the specific company culture of the employer. We have delivered bespoke courses in hospitality, retail and warehousing.

How does it work?
• Job Centre Plus selects and refers interested candidates for a specific employer.
• BCoT can provide facilities and tutors to conduct a bespoke employer led course.
• The employer is then able to interview and select from a work ready group of candidates who have been specifically trained to fill their current vacancies.

Facing redundancy or looking for work?

We are pleased to offer a range of short courses that can help you to get back into work, or to help you find another job if you are facing redundancy.  As a leading provider, we ensure that all or our courses are of the highest quality and meet the needs of you, the community we serve. They are specifically designed to help you gain new skills, confidence and hopefully employment opportunities!

Basic Skills This course will offer you the skills and motivation to get back into work.  You will have the opportunity to obtain a qualification in Introductory IT, find out what is stopping you getting that job, work with experienced tutors to find a direction that works for you and get advice on CV writing and applications
Business Administration  This course is aimed at those who have previously worked in an office environment or wish to work within business administration.  The course covers a number of units such as principles of working in a business environment, producing business documents and managing personal performance and development.  You will achieve an accredited BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration.
Care  This course will help you prepare to work within the health and social care sector and the NHS.   Areas of study include communication, health and safety and protection/safeguarding.  You will gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, achieve a City and Guilds qualification – Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People Settings, obtain Level 2 Emergency First Aid qualification, get direct links with local employers and receive advice on CV writing and applications. 
Childcare  This course will offer you the skills and qualifications to work in childcare.  You will have the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, achieve a NCFE qualification in Introduction to Caring for Children and Young People, obtain your Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate and get advice on CV writing and applications
Cleaning  If you are looking for cleaning work, this course will offer you the skills and qualifications to help you get that job.  You will have the opportunity to gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, a NCFE Level 2 qualification in Knowledge and Cleaning, achieve a Level 2 COSHH and get advice on CV writing and applications. 
Construction The course is designed to offer you the skills and qualifications to work in construction.  The course will include employability skills training, the opportunity to achieve a CITB Level 1 Health and Safety qualification, get advice on CV writing and applications and have the chance to sit your CSCS test and receive your Labourers Card for free.

Hospitality 

This training programme will offer you the skills to work in hospitality.  You will gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, achieve a Laser 1 qualification in Customer Service and Hospitality obtain your Level 2 Food Safety qualification and get advice on CV writing and applications.

Retail 

This course offers you the skills and motivation to get into work in a retail environment.  The course will help you to work within the retail sector and how to apply for vacant positions.  Topics covered include customer service and understanding the retail selling process.  You will gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, achieve a Level 1 qualification in Customer Service and get advice on CV writing and applications. 

Warehousing 

This is an introductory course into working in a warehouse. Topics covered include health and Safety, manual handling, team work and picking/packing goods.  This course will help you gain a City and Guilds qualification in Employability, achieve a Laser 1 qualification in Warehousing, help you to get direct links with employers and get advice on CV writing and applications. 

Distance Learning

We offer a range of short term courses which are fully accredited by NCFE and CACHE. These courses are fully funded and are taught through distance learning. The courses provide excellent initial training across a number of subjects and are available all year round.
