The UK logistics sector employs around 8% of the workforce in England and provides many opportunities to move into jobs and training within and across the sector. The economy relies on the efficient movement of goods within and outside of the UK to ensure goods arrive on time and in the right condition, by road, rail, sea or air.
This Apprenticeship trains you to play an important role in this industry, liaising with a range of people including:
At Level 3, you will hold a team leader or supervisor role for a logistics company and could manage a supply chain or fleet of vehicles. You will be responsible for improving team performance, health and safety, customer service and scheduling the movement of goods by road, rail, sea or air.

You should have (or be expected to achieve) at least 5 GCSEs grades A*-C, or equivalent. If you do not have acceptable qualifications in maths, English language and IT, you will be expected to study for these as part of your Apprenticeship.
This Apprenticeship is also appropriate for direct entry from a related Intermediate/Level 2 Apprenticeship or for those with demonstrable workplace experience.
You should have an employer who operates in this sector and who sponsors your Apprenticeship. BCoT can help support you to find employment if you need it.
Successful completion of this Advanced Apprenticeship would allow you to progress to an Advanced/Higher Apprenticeships in Management or Purchasing and Supply or into a job as a Warehouse Operations Team Leader.
With further development and training you could consider jobs such as Warehouse Manager or Transport Specialist responsible for all aspects of the distribution and transport of goods.
After further training and development for those who choose to do so, you could also consider a Foundation degree in logistics, transport planning, logistics operations and administration or
Higher Education programmes such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business and Management.
