Ian Ward

Staff Governor

Ian Ward is the Director of IT for BCoT responsible for making sure that the students and staff have the equipment and systems they need to be able to learn and work in a secure and safe way. The job involves managing the IT team of six, long-term planning for IT procurement, and keeping up to date with the ever-changing security requirements.

Ian has been involved in education delivery for the last thirty years at all levels, from an unpaid helper up to director level. This is the next stage in his journey of wanting to help students get as much preparation for the world of work as they can.

On becoming a Governor, Ian said "While the role of governor is removed from the day-to-day management, I hope that I can provide helpful information to the rest of the corporation and that I will play a part in keeping BCoT a significant part of the education sector in Basingstoke and the wider area.”
