Safeguarding

The college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All new staff will require, as a minimum, two written references which are satisfactory to the college, a detailed and complete employment history, an enhanced DBS check and must join the DBS update service.  Applicants should be aware the college will undertake a review of publicly available social media postings and online information during the selection process.

You can read our Safeguarding Policy here.

Due to the nature of our work, our job roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the college is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

In accordance with s.7(1)(a) of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, it is an offence to apply for our jobs if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
