The college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All new staff will require, as a minimum, two written references which are satisfactory to the college, a detailed and complete employment history, an enhanced DBS check and must join the DBS update service. Due to the nature of our work, our job roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the college is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
