BCoT holds one of the region’s largest apprenticeship events
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, the college welcomed over 45 companies.
On Monday 3 February, in conjunction with National Apprenticeship Week, Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) hosted one of the region’s largest Apprenticeship Recruitment Fairs.
The event, run by BCoT’s leading apprenticeship team – Aspiral Learning, was attended by more than 250 prospective students – all ready to discuss their futures with companies who were showcasing their apprenticeships.
BCoT has strong links with employers and the event included exhibits from companies such as BMW Group, the AA (Automobile Association) and British Army. Attendees were encouraged to bring their CV to the event and were able to spend time with all employers and the Aspiral Team – getting information, advice and guidance on their apprenticeship options.
Marcus Headington, Head of Business and External Engagement at BCoT, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people attend our apprenticeship event. Fairs like this are crucial in giving students the opportunity to engage with employers. Apprenticeships give the chance to learn on the job instead of the traditional classroom methods and are an excellent way of gaining recognised qualifications, workplace experience and skills, whilst earning a salary.”
BCoT offers a wide range of apprenticeships, with more than 60 different apprenticeship training programmes available in many areas including business, construction, engineering and hospitality. To find out more about apprenticeships, click here.
