BCoT students visit Body Worlds in London
Students visited the Body Worlds exhibition in Piccadilly, London, for an educational trip.
Students from Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) visited the Body Worlds exhibition in Piccadilly, London, for an educational trip which gave them insights into how the human body works.
Twenty Sports students visited the exhibition which is designed to educate the public about how the human body works and show the effects of healthy and unhealthy lifestyles.
The sports students had an independent tour of the exhibition, where they had the opportunity to see a range of displays including seeing the human body in sporting poses – providing understanding into what the body goes through to get into those positions.
James, Sports Course Director at BCoT said: “The exhibits at Body Worlds London were fantastic. To take aspects that we discuss theoretically and see them in person brings a new dimension to the study of anatomy and physiology, providing new learning experiences and challenging the understanding of our sport and exercise science students.”
Beauty Therapy students also visited Body Worlds in January, applying the exhibitions displays to their learnings of the human body for therapy.
Alice Avenell, Beauty Course Director said: “A really enjoyable educational day spent at Body Worlds, it gave our Beauty therapy students a visible representation of the anatomy and physiology that we have been looking at in both theory and practical lessons. To see the individual organs, organ configurations and translucent body slices really brought the learning to life.”
We run a variety of courses in both Beauty and Sports – follow the below links to find out more.
