What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are free, intensive courses funded by the UK government to help you develop job-ready skills in high-demand sectors. They are designed to be fast-paced, lasting between 10 and 16 weeks.
Skills Bootcamps are a great option if you're looking to:
- Change careers
- Upskill in your current field
- Get back into work after a break
Skills Bootcamps are completely free for eligible participants. This includes unemployed individuals, employed people looking to change careers, and some employers upskilling their staff (with some exceptions).
To be eligible for a Skills Bootcamp, you must be:
- Aged 19 or over
- A resident of England for at least 3 years
- Legally entitled to work in the UK
Most Skills Bootcamps are designed for beginners, so you don't necessarily need prior experience in the field. However, some bootcamps may require a basic understanding of relevant concepts.
Our Skills Bootcamps will be delivered in person. They are designed to be intensive, with participants typically committing between 6 and 15 hours per week for five to sixteen weeks.
There will be a range of support services to help you succeed, such as careers advice, CV writing workshops, and interview coaching.
The primary focus is on developing practical skills that are valued by employers. Please refer to individual courses for those that provide a qualification.
While Skills Bootcamps cannot guarantee a job, we can offer support with job search and may even be able to offer guaranteed job interviews with partner employers.
