Level 3 Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems with L2 City & Guilds Award in Sustainability and the Green Environment
(1) Level 3 Air Source Heat Pump Systems with L2 City and Guilds Award in Sustainability and the Green Environment
By taking this course you will receive is a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems.
Learners should have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience.
(2) Level 3 Installation of Solar Photovoltaic Systems with L2 City and Guilds Award in Sustainability and the Green Environment
The overall course is 10 weeks of 2 evenings a week, 3 evenings a week with the final exam for Sustainability and the Green Environment, then the Solar Photovoltaic Systems will take 7 weeks.
This regulated solar panel installation course has been developed to provide existing electricians with the current skills and knowledge required to install Small Scale Solar PV Systems.
As well as holding the BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification, you must hold one of the following:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment Building (Building, Structures and the Environment) (2357)
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357)
- Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (5357)
- Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (2356)
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services - Electrical Installation (Building & Structures)
- Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346)
- Level3 Electrotechnical Dwellings
- EAL Building Services Engineering (Level 3) - Electrotechnical Installation
- ECS Gold Card I(or domestic electrician), JIB Electrician (Not PAT tester only) or Approved Electrician Card
- Equivalent historical qualifications. See EAS Table 4b/4c, and the EAS Qualifications Guide
Stand-alone technical certificates/vocationally related qualifications (VRQ) (non-competency based) are NOT acceptable.
(3) Level 3 Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems with L2 City and Guilds Award in Sustainability and the Green Environment
This course will enable learners to confidently propose, site survey, design and install domestic or small commercial solar thermal hot water systems, enlisting manufacturers' support where required. This course is designed for experienced heating or plumbing professionals or those with at least 3 years of related experience. Learners should have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience, plus hold Water Regulations/Byelaws/Unvented Hot Water G3 certificates and Part-L.
Each of the above Skills Bootcamps includes a Level 2 City and Guilds Award in Sustainability and the Green Environment. This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to understand sustainable working practices and it is especially useful for those who want to work within sustainability or who have been given responsibility for sustainability within their organisations. This qualification is for learners (irrespective of their sector of study) to develop knowledge and understanding of the terms.
- The Skills Bootcamp is designed for adults aged 19 years of age, or older.
- Either be in work, self-employed, recently unemployed or returning to work after a break.
- Be a UK resident for at least 3 consecutive years and have the right to work in the UK.
- Unit 1: To achieve the completion of this knowledge unit you must satisfactorily complete the two online multiple-choice tests for the knowledge learning outcomes within the unit.
- Unit 2: To achieve the completion of this performance unit you must complete the appropriate practical performance activities in simulated conditions as per the requirements of the unit as specified in the practical assessment for this qualification.
