Course Introduction
This one-year City & Guilds introductory course to animal care covers a range of units including animal behaviour, feeding, accommodation and health.
The course covers a wide range of subjects including:
- Animal Health
- Animal Biology
- Animal Handling
- Work Related Experience in Animal Management
- Animal Breeds and Grooming
- Care of Exotics
- Animal Behaviour
- Plan and Monitor Animal Feeding
- Manage Animal Accommodation
- Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and maths or completion of our Future Pathways course.
The course is continuously assessed through assignments, projects and case studies. Students will develop a responsible and co-operative approach to working on their own and in groups. The course uses practical activities, presentations and involvement with local businesses wherever possible.
Successful completion of this course would allow you to progress to Level 3 Animal Management or a related apprenticeship/employment.
