FIND A COURSEDuring this 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of digital occupations and underpin their knowledge with a 9 week placement in industry. Following this course students will be prepared for occupations such as: software developer, web developer, computer games developer, mobile app developer, UX (user experience) designer and software test engineer. Students can also progress into higher level apprenticeships or a degree level course upon completion.
- Using data in software design
- Using technology to analyse and solve problems
- Legal, regulatory and moral implications of technology
- Using physical, virtual and cloud environments
- Emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) and Blockchain
- Internet security
- Digital project planning as well as software design, development, testing, maintenance and support
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths.
- Successful completion of the Level 2 Information and Creative Technology Certificate.
- To be aged between 16-18 at the start of the qualification.
