Course Overview
This BPEC qualification is designed for electricians who wish to upgrade their skills. The course covers knowledge and performance units which cover the competencies for the installation of small-scale solar PV systems.
This 3-day course will enable candidates to select the most appropriate solar photovoltaic system for a property to meet the client’s needs and to commission and hand over the system. It will also provide an understanding of all the legal issues surrounding the installation of these systems and guidance on the completion and submission of all the appropriate notifications.
Course Content
This course is made up of 2 units.
Unit 1: Know the requirements to install, commission and hand over small-scale solar photovoltaic systems.
Unit 2: Install, commission and hand over small-scale solar photovoltaic systems.
Entry Requirement
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and have an N/SVQ 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence. In addition, if not included in the above, current certification of BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed by a mixture of an on-screen exam and practical assessment.
