Course Overview

Skills Bootcamps are flexible programmes of up to 16 weeks, giving individuals the opportunity to develop skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.

These are being developed as part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee, by the UK Government, in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities. This will help people to develop skills that are in demand within our local area and get a better job or more responsibilities within a current role. Here at Basingstoke College of Technology, we are offering a wide range of options to meet your needs.

This Skills Bootcamp is provided over 16 weeks and will run on a Thursday evening from 5.15pm until 9pm per week. This Skills Bootcamp is designed for anyone who wishes to develop their Team Leadership skills. The knowledge, skills and behaviours required within a first-line management role will be the same, regardless of the sector or size of the organisation so if you wish to develop your skills in support of interpersonal excellence, organisational performance and personal effectiveness this could be the Skills Bootcamp for you.

Course Content

A range of content will be covered including:

Interpersonal excellence – managing people and developing relationships
Organisational performance - delivering results
Personal effectiveness – managing self

Entry Requirement

The Skills Bootcamp is designed for adults aged 19 years of age, or older.

Either be in work, self-employed, recently unemployed or returning to work after a break.

Be a UK resident for at least 3 consecutive years and have the right to work in the UK.

How much does a Skills Bootcamp Cost?

There may be no cost involved if you are unemployed or employed and looking for a career change. Large employers looking to upskill their staff will contribute 30% of the cost for their staff members and small or medium-sized employers will contribute 10%.

Level 2 English and maths.
Appropriate vocational competence.

Assessment

A selection of methods including group discussions, presentation and portfolio of evidence.
