Course Introduction

This is year one for a two-year course. Successful completion of year one will allow progression to year two.

This qualification covers a wide range of key health and social care subject areas. The course includes a wide range of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in the specific areas of social care, health studies and health sciences, while still allowing enough diversity for the optional units to be tailored to suit a learner’s preferred progression path.

Course Content

You will learn about communication, safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, human growth and development, anatomy and physiology and professional practice. You will complete industry placements in an area of health and social care.

Entry Requirement

Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English, maths and science.
Successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification.
