Course Introduction
The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Healthcare Professions’ is a two-year BTEC course that will give you the skills and knowledge you need to work in various healthcare settings. You'll learn anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and other essential healthcare topics. You'll also gain practical experience through placements in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.
The course will run on a Monday and Tuesday at 9am to 5pm.

The units within the qualification have been drawn from the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Healthcare Practice (Healthcare Assistant Practitioner). They have been edited in response to stakeholders' feedback, including employers and education providers. Professional bodies were consulted and engaged with the original qualification development. We are very grateful to the employers, education providers, and other individuals who have generously shared their time and expertise to help develop this qualification from the existing HND in Healthcare Practice (Assistant Practice), and those who have supported the final iteration of the Higher Nationals in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England:

A successful learner for this HE program will require one or more of:
- A level 3 qualification in Healthcare

- Work placements
The HND is a highly respected qualification that will open up many doors for you. You could eventually work as a nurse, midwife, physiotherapist, or occupational therapist. You could also work in a variety of other healthcare roles, such as healthcare assistant, health visitor, or social worker.
