Course Introduction
This City & Guilds qualification is for those working in, or wishing to work within, manufacturing (machining) engineering. It is a day-release course that provides a nationally-recognised qualification that offers career progression for those already in the engineering industry and wishes to enhance their career prospects or if you are looking for a career change.
The qualification provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required by the sector with national recognition by employers. The course is delivered on a day-release basis over two years.
- 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent, including mathematics, English and science.
Individual employers will set the recruitment and selection criteria for their Apprenticeships.
The Level 3 Apprenticeship will be assessed by a combination of an evidence portfolio gathered from workplace activities, college assignments and an end point assessment.
The course offers progression to the HNC and is a recognised means of career progression within the engineering industry.
