This apprenticeship is ideal for someone just starting their journey in accounting and can be the first step on the ladder to becoming a fully qualified Accountant.
You will learn on the job and in college taking into account how you would assist in the day-to-day financial activities such as data entry to month-end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. In addition, the Assistant Accountant may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.
You will study an AAT qualification by attending a college class one day a week with qualified tutors who all currently still work in the accounting industry. The apprenticeship also includes a Level 2 Foundation Certificate.
The course will be either 18 months or 2.5 years depending on whether the candidate has a Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate already.

- To start directly at Level 3 a Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate is required
For Candidates with no prior Level 2 qualification, to meet the criteria required students will study the Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate and Level 3 Advanced Diploma.
