- You will need to be employed, or find employment in a relevant role.
The course is aimed at those who have already completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Childcare, or who can demonstrate, through formal qualifications or relevant experience, a level of knowledge equivalent to that covered in Level 2. This Level 3 Apprenticeship is particularly important if you wish to progress towards nursery management. It is also suitable for supervisors and team leaders supervising others in early years settings.
The apprentice will learn through a combination of on and off the job training. Progress will be supported and monitored by a business trainer via an e-portfolio system and a planned training, planning and assessment meeting will occur monthly. The rest of the apprentice’s time will be spent earning and learning in the workplace where they will be supported by a mentor.
This programme is completed in 18- 24 months.

- Work product evidence
- Witness testimony
- Questioning
These are tailored to the apprentice’s learning needs and any additional support offered as required.
All teaching, learning and assessment for the qualifications will take place in the workplace, although attendance may also be required at the college to support with Maths and English if required.
This course could lead to promotion to a Deputy Manager Role and/or advancement to a level 4 qualification.
