Course Introduction
Skills Bootcamps are flexible programmes of up to 16 weeks, giving individuals the opportunity to develop skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.
These are being developed as part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee, by the UK Government, in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities. This will help people to develop skills that are in demand within our local area and get a better job or more responsibilities within a current role. Here at Basingstoke College of Technology, we are offering a wide range of options to meet your needs.
This Skills Bootcamp in Health and Social Care will provide knowledge to support the obtaining of the care certificate, covering the 15 different Care Certificate Standards which is supportive of new employees working in Health and Social Care roles. You will also embark upon a Level 3 study exploring equality and diversity, health and safety, effective working practices and legal and ethical frameworks.
This Skills Bootcamp will equip you with the following:
- Care Certificate Requirements, relating to the 15 Care Certificate Standards
- Equality and Diversity knowledge
- Safeguarding requirements
- Data Confidentiality and GDPR awareness
- An understanding of what working within the Health and Social Care sector entails
- Legislation
- The Skills Bootcamp is designed for adults aged 19 years of age, or older.
- Either be in work, self-employed, recently unemployed or returning to work after a break.
- Be a UK resident for at least 3 consecutive years and have the right to work in the UK.
How much does a Skills Bootcamp Cost?
There may be no cost involved if you are unemployed or employed and looking for a career change. Large employers looking to upskill their staff will contribute 30% of the cost for their staff members and small or medium-sized employers will contribute 10%.
This is delivered in line with Level 3 standards so the following will be required:
- GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above
- A short discussion will also be required ( in-person or over the telephone) to ensure this Skills Bootcamp is suitable for your needs.
Portfolio completion.
Skills Bootcamps are a great way to develop skills to progress in a current position with the support of your employer, change careers, or secure employment. This Skills Bootcamp can lead to an interview with a local employer.
